Approval of your school to participate in the scholarship program does not equate to approval of scholarships for students. Each student must be approved for a scholarship by AAA (and have that scholarship funded) before any payments will be processed. Schools should not accept any students without a Scholarship Award Letter and School Commitment Form (SCF) unless the household: 1) is willing to self-pay their tuition and fees until they are awarded a scholarship and 2) will self-pay if they are not.

Legislative Update for Schools
The 2025 Nevada Legislative Session ended with no additional funding for the Opportunity Scholarship program, despite Governor Lombardo’s efforts.
Senate Bill 460 (SB 460) passed with new reporting requirements for participating schools, including:
1) Details about students who do not return, including the reason for their departure.
2) Academic progress and disciplinary records for all scholarship recipients.
Review sections 30-32 of SB 460 for details. The Nevada Department of Education will provide more guidance later this year.

26-27 Scholarship Applications
Renewing & waitlisted students and their siblings: AAA will be emailing renewing & waitlisted households to apply for the 26-27 school year in March 2026. Please remind your families to submit their applications as soon as possible once they are available.
New students: Unfortunately, we are not able to offer scholarship applications to new applicants due to limited funding. Please check back for the 27-28 school year.
Scholarship Management Platform (“SMP”)
Administrators of current Nevada schools were emailed an invitation on Thursday, 2/27/2025 to join AAA’s new and improved SMP for the 2025-26 school year. Please complete the onboard process as soon as possible so that your school is available to be selected by your student’s parents once the 2025-26 SCF process begins.

School Commitment Form (“SCF”)
Both the parent and school must complete the student’s enrollment by submitting an SCF to AAA. The parent will begin the process by selecting their student’s chosen school via their online SMP account. After that, the school will be notified to confirm enrollment and to enter tuition adjustments. Lastly, the parent will be notified to confirm their acceptance.

Verification Report (“VR”)
Verification reports (“VRs”) are sent to schools according to the Scholarship Payment Calendar at the bottom of this page. By default, VRs are emailed to the school’s director or authorized decision maker.
