We know any change involving your child’s education can feel unsettling, especially when it isn’t something you asked for. Our goal with this post is simple: to introduce ourselves, explain what’s happening, and walk you through exactly what to expect so there are no surprises along the way.
Who We Are
AAA Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit scholarship organization that has helped families access educational opportunities since 2010. We administer state scholarship programs in Florida, Arizona, Georgia and Nevada. PEP families are an important part of our community, and supporting home education students and their families well is something we take seriously.
Our mission is simple: we make academic achievement accessible. That means treating every family that comes to us with respect, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to making your child’s education work for them.
What’s Happening
Some families who were awarded by Step Up for Students need a new organization to manage their scholarship, and your family is part of that group. When we learned families like yours needed a place to continue without interruption, AAA was ready to help make that happen. Your eligibility for a PEP scholarship isn’t changing, only the organization managing your student’s PEP account is. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible, so your child’s education continues without a gap.
What to Expect: Your Onboarding Steps
Here’s a simple walkthrough of what the process will look like for your family:
1. You agree to the transfer. This first step confirms that you’d like your student’s PEP scholarship to move to AAA and gives permission for your family’s information to be shared with us.
2. We transfer your information behind the scenes. Over the following three to four weeks, AAA works directly with Step Up to securely move your family’s information into our system. You don’t need to do anything during this time. If a few weeks go by without hearing from us, that’s expected, we’re working on your transfer in the background.
3. A welcome message from AAA. Once your information has been transferred, you’ll receive a welcome email from us with clear instructions on what to do next and how to reach us with questions.
4. Set up your AAA account. You’ll create login credentials for AAA’s Scholarship Management Platform (SMP). This is where you’ll manage your student’s scholarship going forward.
5. Confirm you’d like to continue with AAA. This step confirms you are accepting AAA’s 2026-2027 school year scholarship award.
6. Complete your Student Learning Plan. Every PEP student is required to have a Student Learning Plan (SLP), a short outline of how you plan to support your student’s education this year.
7. We review your SLP. Our team reviews your SLP and once approved, your student’s PEP account will be eligible for funding.
8. Funds become available each quarter. Each quarter, your student’s PEP account will be funded, and you’ll be able to submit reimbursement requests for qualifying educational expenses.
